Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking a Principal Network Communications Engineer; this position will be located in Aurora, CO. Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Maintain smooth operation of classified network.
  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of network.
  • Support and maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  • Prepare and ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis.
  • Design network or portion of network that includes selection of hardware and software packages.
This position may be filled as a Level 2 or as a Level 3, depending on the qualifications outlined below.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
  • Associate's degree with 4 years of experience, or Bachelors degree with 2 years of experience; a High School diploma or equivalent with 6 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
  • Current DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience working with network systems and networking principles.
  • Experience with network risk analysis, modeling, and back-up administration functions.
  • Current DoD 8570 eligible certificate (i.e. Security+CE).
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50lbs.

  • Associate's degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelors degree with 5 years of experience, or Master's degree with 3 years of experience; a High School diploma or equivalent with 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
  • Current DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience working with network systems and networking principles.
  • Experience with network risk analysis, modeling, and back-up administration functions.
  • Current DoD 8570 eligible certificate (i.e. Security+CE).
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as Domain Name Server (DNS), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
  • Experience communicating technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interfacing with the customer on a daily basis.
  • Experience with OSPF, static routes, Port-channels, VLANs, GRE tunnels, VPN tunnels, and ACLs .
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification.
  • Previous experience troubleshooting network procedures and best practices; experience with network challenges associated with systems integration, including COTS integration, capacity analysis, and system architecture design.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing small teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of network analysis tools (e.g., WireShark, OpNet, etc.).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Salary Range: $71,500 USD - $107,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $88,000 USD - $132,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
