Job Title: Network Systems Engineer

Location: Bend River Mall / Remote / Telework (50-50)

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

The Network Engineer will have overall responsibility for maintaining network systems and services including routers, switches and other IP devices. The Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining service levels for all critical applications by installing, upgrading, configuring, and troubleshooting as required. The Network Engineer will assist in the development and/or enhancement of procedures and/or methodologies to achieve optimum performance, security, delivery, and continuity of network services. The Network Engineer will install and maintain LAN equipment and recommend the purchase of hardware and software as necessary. The Network Engineer will train users on LAN operations as necessary.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Information Technology, or relevant field preferred. Equivalent knowledge, training, education, and/or experience may substitute for degree.
  • 5 years information technology experience required.
  • Direct experience with Cisco Catalyst switching, Meraki, and Palo Alto firewalls is highly desired
  • Technical experience in a multi-datacenter environment with critical, non-stop enterprise applications running in virtual server environments is highly desirable.
  • Industry standard networking certifications is highly desirable (CCNA, CCNP, VCP, etc.).
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.


This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, knowledge and confidentiality. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintain the LAN environment in and between multiple facilities in the region.
  • LAN and WAN infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting - including minor and occasional low voltage cabling
  • Perform network performance monitoring and tuning
  • Recommend, perform, and coordinate upgrades to network software and hardware which may require after hours and weekend work
  • Participate in all networking projects including data circuit installation and operation, CoS/QoS initiatives, monitoring, and timely problem resolution
  • Document network configuration
  • Ensure network security - endpoints, firewalls, and VPNs, etc. Palo Alto, Meraki, Cisco
  • Detailed network inventory management
  • Wireless and Mobile device management (MDM)
  • Experience with VMWare server/virtualization, able to provision network configurations and manage same.
  • Actively monitor and respond to technical hardware and software network related problems utilizing hardware and software testing/monitoring tools and techniques as well as assist in managing overall system capacity.
  • Work with vendor support/service groups or other external support teams to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
  • May be asked to evaluate new products/technologies to determine impact on existing system configurations; assist with cost/benefit analysis, and feasibility studies.
  • Required to produce and maintain documentation such as systems requirements, designs, resource inventories and plans as requested by both IT and Organizations Leadership.
  • Serves as a technical escalation point for various members of IT staff.
  • Ability to organize, standardize, and manage detailed information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in and between teams.
  • Ability to prioritize, managing multiple competing work efforts.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insured.
  • May be called upon to work as part of the on call rotation or after hours support.
  • Does technical research for new projects.
