JOB DESCRIPTION:

 


·        Network Engineer Data II


·        Works under the general supervision of the Network Operations Manager.

·        Serves in the Technology Operations and Support Department of the Office of Technology at the Corporate Office Building (COB).

 


Plans, designs, develops, configures, analyzes, implements, installs, and integrates networked systems for the transmission of information in data, voice, and video format with an emphasis on data and switch networks. Tests, maintains operational integrity, performs quality assurance, and manages networked systems. Performs related functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To be rated qualified for this job, an applicant must meet all of the MQs listed below at the time of vacancy announcement closure.


1.      A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that totals four years.


Note: A fully equivalent combination of education and training beyond what is needed to satisfy the education requirement may be used to substitute for up to two of the seven years of experience. For example, a master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.

 


2.      Seven years of progressively responsible experience in implementing and maintaining enterprise-wide network systems.


 


3.      Must have a   state driver’s license in good standing


 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


1.      Certified as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), or Customer Voice Portal (CVP) Technician by Cisco.

 


2.      Experience with Data Center Consolidation, penetration testing, ethical hacking, and performing security assessments.
