Job Description:

The Network Engineer is primarily responsible for performing all necessary duties that supports data, video and voice infrastructure equipment and systems. This includes design, installation, and maintenance of all network infrastructure systems including, but not limited to, switches, routers, firewalls, Cisco VoIP (CUCM, CUP, CUC, UCCX and Expressway), call recording systems, network monitoring tools, and any 3rd party software such as conferencing solutions. The Network Engineer is also responsible for working with 3rd party vendors to get proposals for upcoming projects. These proposals include Statements of Work, Hardware pricing, and professional services. The Network Engineer should be a leadership position, providing guidance for Network Operations Specialists.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement network solutions. Defining, documenting, and enforcing network standards. This includes new branch build outs, network infrastructure improvement projects and supporting business lines request for new features and enhancements across the voice and data network.
  • Troubleshoot voice and network problems and outages. This includes leveraging the use of network monitoring tools such as Solardwinds and Variphy. Day-to-day issues ranging from phones that might not be working to network gear that is malfunctioning. Determining if there is a telco or circuit issue.
  • Support of Information Security equipment such as Firewalls and Intrusion Detection equipment
  • Providing maintenance for various network and voice equipment. This includes upgrades for various network devices based on bugs found/security vulnerabilies/feature upgrades.
  • Moves, Adds, Changes. Day to day requests, mostly Voice Requests. These requests are to setup new users, make changes i.e. add extensions to hunt groups or name changes etc, or moving a user from one office to another. This also may include VLAN changes on a port etc.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Experience with some level ITIL implementation in support of the Help Desk
  • Experience with Call recording adn reporting solutions such as TASKE, VPA, or NICE
  • Knowledge of ACD systems
  • Windows AD knowledge
  • Experience with Help Desk software tools such as Remedy, Help Star, Service Now
  • Microsoft Office desktop products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 4 years experience in a banking or similar environment.
  • Voice and Data experience is required
  • CISCO CCNP/ Collaboration or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years of proven experience in managing, configuring and maintaining UC and routers/switches in a LAN/WAN environment
  • Will be expected to exercise sound, independent judgment
  • Project Management, Problem Solving, Network Design and Implementation
  • Knowledge with the design and installation of converged voice/data MPLS and DMVPN Networks
  • Knowledge of SIP and Routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP
  • Knowledge of CISCO Voice Gateways, VPN Platforms, Nexus 7K, 5K, 2K Switches
  • Knowledge of VMware and UCS servers related to CISCO UC applications
  • Knowledge of Call Recording and Reporting software
  • Network Troubleshooting, Configuration, Performance Tuning
  • Knowledge of NOC tools such as SolarWinds, Sniffers
  • Knowledge of ASA Firewalls and Juniper VPN Concentrators desirable
  • May work outside of "normal" business hours when needed
