Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
On-the job training, Internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.
This is a full-time position. These positons work the ODNI 12-hour rotating schedule, with shifts starting at 0600 and 1800.

The professionals at the National Security Agency (NSA) have one common goal: to protect our nation. The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense. The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information.
The Capabilities Service Center (CSC) is the Capabilities Directorate focal point for health, performance and security awareness of all Capabilities mission, business and IT infrastructure services across all network fabrics. The CSC manages a 24/7 Operation Center that is an agile, high-tech, and forward-leaning Operations Center continuously changing to keep pace with operational mission needs and customer requirements. In support of this mission, the CSC Operations Floor is comprised of numerous physical and virtual service support teams responsible for monitoring, resolving, and reporting on all enterprise capabilities incidents.
The Capabilities Manager positions are the technical component of the CSC 24/7 Watch Floor. These critical positions are responsible for:
- Providing direct support to the Senior Capabilities Officer (SCO) in the daily management of the CSC Operations Floor at NSA Fort Meade, and as requested, at NSA Texas
- Performing as the focal point for situational awareness (performance, availability and security) and response/recovery for IT services
- Coordinating and directing recovery activities and holding service provides accountable for service restoration activities
- Overseeing all call-in procedures, ensuring they are clearly documented within the ticket and call-in database
- Tracking and documenting all scheduled outages
- Communicating and collaborating daily with Service Owners and critical partners to establish situational awareness, understand mission priorities, identify customer issues, highlight high risk changes and maintain the overall ability to operate
- Assisting as needed in troubleshooting and monitoring network issues
