Position: Network Operations Center Supervisor
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Modis Burbank is looking for a Network Operations Center Supervisor for a great client in downtown Los Angeles. Under the direction of the Manager of Network Operations, the Supervisor, Network Operations Center develops, implements and maintains technical solutions for new and existing systems. Core to the position is the support, development and use of provisioning, monitoring and management systems for infrastructure services. The Supervisor, Network Operations Center also supports daily Firmwide network and system operations and provides second level support to other IT teams.
In this capacity, the Supervisor, Network Operations Center will:
Oversee and ensure the optimal performance of systems; Perform frequent and long-term maintenance in addition to oversight of user facing tasks;
Provide advanced escalated technical support and IT internal guidance for network and system operations across the firm;
Prepare and distribute technical documentation for assigned systems and projects involving processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides, training and change management logs; Produce reports to track and communicate patch management activities and other team operational processes;
Provide Firmwide network and server monitoring and support, including monitoring of system health and availability, as well as daily administration of all backup and disaster recovery operations;
Manage and participate in projects for new system implementations and monitoring; Implement and administer new monitoring tools and processes to improve the proactive monitoring of Firmwide networks and systems;
Perform daily administrative operations related to the management of all datacenters and IT infrastructure systems; Create, document and enforce standardized procedures for supporting the network infrastructure;
Configure and deploy physical and virtual servers; Configure and manage network devices, remote access systems, and network print queues; Administer IT infrastructure services, including authentication, name resolution and other IP services;
Mentor the Network Operations team and emphasize continuing development;
Act as a technical liaison with IT external customers, vendors and partners;
Work overtime, on-call and/or non-standard hours, and travel as required; and
Handle additional related projects as needed.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field (required); Advanced degree (preferred);
Cisco network certifications (preferred; CCNA);
Microsoft system certifications (preferred; MCSE);
At least 5 years of technical experience, building and supporting Windows operating systems in Enterprise environments;
At least 5 years of technical experience building and supporting advanced networks;
Expert-level proficiency in network and server management and monitoring tools;
Expert-level proficiency in Windows Server;
Advanced-level proficiency in Active Directory and Group Policy administration;
Advanced-level proficiency in Exchange administration;
Advanced-level proficiency in Cisco Router and Switch configurations and troubleshooting;
Advanced-level proficiency in VMWare and HyperV provisioning and management tools;
Advanced-level proficiency in data backup systems and Enterprise backup software
Advanced proficiency in implementation and management of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems;
Advanced proficiency in active directory administration;
Advanced proficiency in area networks (LAN / WAN, MPLS/VPLS, VPN, VLAN) design, engineering and management;
Advanced proficiency in central storage system administration (SAN - Storage Area Network, NAS - Network Attached Storage);
Advanced proficiency in a variety of systems, servers and protocols (Cisco, Citrix, VMware, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP);
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; and
Experience working in an operations-based environments, following IT service management principles, including incident and event management, with supporting Service Desk tools.
