Verisign operates the infrastructure for a portfolio of top-level domains that include .com, .net, .tv, .edu, .gov, .jobs, .name and .cc, as well as two of the world's 13 Internet root servers. The Manager – ROCC serves as Technical Duty Officer (TDO) for the Regional Operations Command Center (ROCC) and acts as Incident Commander (IC), Communications Officer (CO) and technical SME in the early stages of an incident. The TDO is an integral job function within the ROCC to insure the CORE registry system and COM/NET resolution maintain SLA requirements.
- Maintains total site awareness, detects metric and service deviations, monitors change, and proactively identifies potential issues and resolves before they escalate to impactful levels. The incumbent is responsible for taking command of incidents in the onset of a bridge and for fulfilling the IC duties until a proper hand off has taken place.
- Uses independent judgment, advanced technical knowledge and communication skills to manage ROCC operator duties and provide onsite leadership during Incident Management level events. Works collaboratively and effectively with the Incident Commander and Communications Officer to assess, address, escalate, if necessary, and resolve incidents that impact the CORE registry system and COM/NET resolution. Prepares detailed incident report drafts, fulfills requests from the IC manages resource tracking and ensures regular updates are made to the incident ticket and other logs as necessary.
- Acts as a cohesive team with fellow ROCC Technical Duty Officers who provide 24X7X365 incident command services coverage including shift reporting and turnover to insure that incidents are adequately communicated, properly and expeditiously intervened or escalated in a timely and effective manner.
- Serves as the front-line supervisor during their assigned ROCC operations shift and leads any work orders of the ROCC team during incident management events as determined by the incident commander.
