Network Solutions Architect - ENG001662
The Network Solutions Architect is responsible for creating and validating end to end implementation for new services adhering to the architecture. They are responsible for High Level Designs (HLD), feature standardization and defining or providing guidance around key configuration parameters. This Architect has responsibility for mapping small scale vendor agnostic architectures (limited number of network elements and limited interactions among elements, e.g. Web Proxy/Content Optimization solution) to vendor specific implementations. Acts as the technical owner for the features and provides guidance and support to realize them in production. Participates in the development of product lifecycle and roadmaps!
- Support deployment of new wireless data technologies. Develop HLDs which map to requirements and architecture. Develop detailed test plans that verify the specific vendor implementations defined in the HLD.
- Support ATS in lab trials for new features and technologies related to core network elements. Responsible for the development and execution of the test cases. Develop new technology recommendations. Support product lifecycle development and product roadmaps. Support multi-functional teams to ensure consistent and clear communication.
- Participate and/or support (depending on the RACI matrix) RFPs, technical trials and proof-of-concept work for new technologies introduced into UScellular. Anticipate interoperability issues, apply out of the box thinking to isolate gaps and work with vendors to find resolution.
- Seek out education and learning opportunities and become a subject matter specialist (as required by the business needs). Create and evangelize technical best/top practices in the technology areas of expertise!
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work or military experience. Minimum experience of 7 years.
Strong knowledge of IP and protocols such as SIP, HTTP, TCP/UDP, IP, GTP, E/I/BGP, OSPF, MPLS-VPN, IPSEC, HTTPS/TL. Prior experience with scripting and automation is preferred.
Familiarity with wireless industry trends such as NFV, SON, LTE-Advanced, 4G and 5G. Experience with VoLTE, IMS Core, 5G and RCS is helpful.
Must have an aptitude to learn new technologies and develop expertise at bits and bytes level. Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and seamlessly in a multi-functional team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Prior experience designing and deploying services in a telecom network is preferred. Ability to thoroughly understand high level network architectures and translate them into manageable, serviceable, scalable and vendor specific solutions is preferred.Job
