Job Description

  • Supports and provides expertise for the installation of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Server 2008, Microsoft Windows Client XP /. Windows 7, SMS patch management, Autonomy Search Engine, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and LAN/WAN tier 2 support.
  • Server security patches on a monthly basis as approved by IRM.
  • Designs, implements and maintains virtual environments using both VMware ESX and Windows 2016/2019 Hyper-V platforms.
  • Coordinates A/GIS servers (Physical and Virtual), storage and network requirements with the Department of State’s Enterprise Server Operations Center (ESOC).
  • Supports the SAS vital records operations.
  • Supports and participates in the full SDLC for erect application development and operations.
  • Supports the A/GIS Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with all the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation, especially system security plans (SSPs) and information system contingency plans (ISCPs).
  • Provides support for systems integrity issues concerning Quality Assurance and Configuration Management, especially with regard to security.
  • Provides expertise and coordinate A/GIS/IPS VM and SAN requirements with the Enterprise Server Operations Center (ESOC).
  • Assists in project plan creation and maintenance, and coordinates Department of State mandated hardware/software configuration management issues with A/GIS/IPS/AAS managers/developers and with the ESOC.
  • Provides onsite hardware/software maintenance and upgrades, and system backup support.
  • Provides NetApps Filers configuration and support.
  • Supports A/GIS/IPS/AAS development environments.
  • Organizes programs and activities in accordance with A/GIS/IPS mission and goals of the organization.
  • Advises of new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Manages long-term goals.
  • Develops an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensures goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance.
  • Meet with internal customers to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions of services.
  • Implements and manages changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Provides system support for integrity issues concerning Quality Assurance and Configuration Management, especially with regard to security.
 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor Degree (preferably in Computer Science, or Information Technology, or comparable field).
  • One or more of the following certifications: Comp TIA A+ Certification, Comp TIA Network+ Certification, Comp TIA Network+ Certification, MCSE, Cisco CCNA and CCNP Certification, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) and Security + certification.
  • 10 years of specialized management experience in one or more of the following areas: Program Management, Manage long-term goals, Communications skills orally and written documents.
  • Two years’ experience with SPLUNK Enterprise and Security and Compliance applications.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019.
  • Expert knowledge of Office 365 and Microsoft eDiscovery products.
  • Proficient in information access systems and applications.
  • Proficient in content management technologies and practices.
  • Proficient in Archiving and Records Management technologies and understanding of associated processes and polices of the Department of State.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) desirable.
  • Experience and ability to develop and implement project work plans, schedules and procedures for complex projects and risk assessments.
  • Experience and ability to establish priorities, manage resources, and resolve problems.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with all levels of management, with a diverse customer workforce.
