This position is located within the Division of Technology Operations (DTO) of the Department of Administration. Under general supervision, incumbent works as a member of the Data Center Infrastructure migration team to install, configure, maintain, update and troubleshoot servers and server software. Serves as lead administrator responsible for the daily support, configuration and administration of MS Active Directory, BigFix infrastructure servers, and Dell Quests tools. Assists team members with problem resolution. Maintains, configures, updates and monitors all systems utilizing approved software, conforming to DTO standards and policies ensuring all procedures and processes properly secures data, applications, and communications conforming to specifically to DTO security standards, policies and procedures. Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science or related field and experience in information technology systems or related area; OR and approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources. 6 years of proven hands on experience with enterprise information technology architecture including, but not limited to, planning development, implementation and governance of technologies & services for an enterprise class service provider.
Additional Requirements: Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems with emphasis on installation, configuration and monitoring skills. Knowledge of Operating System extended component software. Knowledge of server maintenance and monitoring to ensure data security and systems integrity. Proven experience with large scale information technology system administration. Compliance certification and training required. May be required to travel overnight. May require reporting to work on evenings and/or weekends. May be required to report to work during emergency situations. May require working from a remote location beyond the standard 37.5 hours/week and could include working holidays. May be required to carry a laptop and cell phone for after hours contact. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) preferred.
Strong technical experience with Windows operating systems, server virtualization technologies, MS Active Directory, MS AD FS, IBM BigFix, Dell Quest Tools, performance tuning, automated patch maintenance systems, and server security hardening preferred.
