Job Description

The primary function of this position is to be part of a team to assist the transition from Lotus Notes to an O365/Exchange environment.  After implementation contractor will need to be able to administer, maintain and ensure availability of the email messaging and associated systems and mobile device communication.
 
• Administers, maintains and ensures the availability of the email messaging and associated systems for the City, including maintaining server environment and availability, mail routing, replication, application, mail availability, backups, data storage, disk usage, web connectivity and mobile device communications; and resolving user issues and questions;
• Performs administrative tasks, including documentation, policy changes, security, enforcement of Email clients including mobile devices, managing journals, archives, data storage, and backups of large data sets;
• Performs tasks associated with upgrades and migrations of users with respect to future deployment projects;
• Plans and manages implementation of third party products that integrate with the infrastructure and business processes, and provides internal customer support for those products;
• Monitors mail flow, replication and security of mail through the Email System;
• Sets up and maintains users access and rights on the network, host systems; removes rights and roles of terminated users on the network, host systems and databases;
• Analyze and document business practices, policies and procedures, and encode them into the enterprise-wide system assigned;
• Effectively research problems and extrapolate knowledge between applications;
• Analyze, develop and modify complex computerized applications and database systems;
• Analyze existing and new business procedures to determine the technical solution that meets the user needs;
 
Core Skills Needed:
  • Prior experience on a team to transition from Lotus Notes environment to O365/Exchange environment
  • Previous O365 / Exchange administration role
  • Used and can support Data Security and Encryption methods
  • Has worked in a support environment responsible for resolving standard and advanced request/incident tickets from users and provides telephone and onsite technical support to troubleshoot and fix problems; completes requests for change; follows the change management process for all changes to the production infrastructure;
  • Ability to clearly communicate ( read / write and follow direction) in English
 
  • Skills preferred:
  • Previous project management experience
  • Knowledge of Proof Point and other security appliances
  • Government experience
  • Previous Support experience with:  Network File, DHCP, Network Printing, DNS, Active Directory, LDAP, AD Groupd Policy, Vmware vCenter
• Network administration principles and practices;
• Familiar with Public records and data retention policies;
• Experience with MS Windows, TCP/IP network environments;
