Job Description

Title: Office Assistant
Location: Piscataway, NJ
Duration: 12-18 months

Description:
Plagiarism Detection & Resolution
  • Assist CrossCheck Specialist in a timely manner by reviewing Alerts coming out of the plagiarism detection tool, CrossCheck.
  • Support Resolution Specialist by collecting case information and recording it in the plagiarism database.
  • Create a digital archive for each case on the Office's network drive, and prepare case documents to be used by staff and volunteers.
  • Assist with metrics gathering for plagiarism reports and prepare EOY billing data for the Enhanced Plagiarism Resolution Service (Enpres).
Copyright Registrations
  • Assist Office staff with registering the copyright for all conference proceedings and journal titles using the U.S. Copyright Office's electronic copyright registration tool, eCO. Approximately 200 titles are released every month and must be prepared and shipped to the U.S. Copyright Office.
Copyright Compliance Responsibilities
  • Assist Office staff with scanning and archiving paper Copyright Forms, including organizing copyright forms in a digital database.
  • Correspond with conference organizers about using the electronic Copyright Form (eCF) while recording all communication efforts.
Group Email/Service Cloud
  • Assist Office staff with group email and Service Cloud email boxes byRe-directing messages that pertain to the areas of expertise of specific Office staff
  • Deleting unwanted/unnecessary messages in the box
  • Issuing email replies to some messages using prepared templates.
