Consultant to manage and support client OpenVMS applications and the OS at different locations across the country. High level technical or business area expert in one or more disciplines called upon to address a particular task or environment need. OpenText Captiva Capture, Documentum, xCP, Webtop (WDK), Documentum Foundation Class (DFC), Documentum Query Language (DQL)/API C#, VB.NET/VB6, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Java Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools such as VersionOne. Knowledge of and experience in an IT Service management System (preferably ServiceNow) and ITIL processes
15-20 years’ experience in OpenVMS system administration to include: OpenVMS Clusters Patch research and management Apache/Tomcat DCL scripting to automate system reporting/monitoring Experience with Alpha & Itanium hardware Able to work in a team environment Desirable: Experience with HPE 3PAR storage array systems C/C++ software development experience As a technical expert, provides advice and assistance in state-of-the-art software/hardware solutions involving hardware of various capacities, multiple operating environments, database management systems specialized software, data communications facilities and protocols including Value Added Networks, fourth generation technologies, and complex software tools or packages. As a business expert, works with senior client officials to identify enterprise improvement goals, assess organizational and process effectiveness, and implement change strategies. Designs technical and business solutions, mentors and trains client staff, and oversees implementation. Has a high level of diverse technical and industry experience related to studying and analyzing system’s needs, systems development, and systems process analysis, design and reengineering. Have skills and experience related to business management, systems engineering, operations research, and management engineering. Typically has specialization in a particular technology or business application. Keeps abreast of technological developments and industry trends. • A minimum of ten (10) years experience in software development and/or related field; • A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred; • Able to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program; • Able to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job; • Experience training, mentoring, and providing technical direction to less experienced personnel; • Extensive experience with designing, coding, testing, degugging and documenting software solutions to complex problems concerning computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results; • Extensive experience analyzing complex business applications, developing block diagrams and logic flow charts, and translating detailed design into software; • Extensive experience with performance tuning software to reduce execution time or improve efficiency; • Extensive experience authoring or contributing to both program-level and user-level software-related documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents, technical manuals, and user manuals; • Able to obtain Postal clearance; • Excellent communication skills.
