Job Description

Purpose and Scope:

Responsible for planning, design, maintenance and support of all imaging systems throughout the enterprise to include radiology and cardiology systems used within and outside of the Radiology Department. Oversees all imaging systems applications to ensure that they support organizational requirements. Works closely with other hospital IS analysts and engineers to ensure that they support organizational requirements. Works closely with other hospital IS analysts and engineers to ensure effective integration between hospital and imaging systems. Responsible for overseeing relevant project implementations, training, maintenance, monitoring, support, and integration of systems to the imaging systems, for all imaging systems. Additionally, responsible to ensure that regulatory compliancy of imaging systems with HIPAA and other relevant state and federal regulations. PACS Administrator is also responsible to coordinate and collaborate with other internal and external entities - to include vendors- to ensure efficiency and of the workflow and utility of the imaging applications/systems.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of experience in healthcare imaging, information technology, health care, radiology or related area required. Additional training in HL7 standards and interface creation/maintenance required.

Experience:

  • Five years experience with healthcare imaging systems implementation, maintenance, documentation and training, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Certification in one of the diagnostic imaging disciplines is highly preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of healthcare imaging workflow, imaging application integration, HL7, and DICOM.
  • Good understanding of Windows OS, network, and application/system maintenance methodologies.
  • Minimum one year experience developing and managing HL7 interfaces preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, and InfoSec is required.
  • Previous experience in project management is preferred.
