The Solutions Architect is responsible for ensuring that the company’s IT decisions as relating to the business applications within CLIENT are made with their impact on the entire organization kept firmly in mind. The Solutions Architect will support the conception, design, implementation, and on-going operations of the company’s business applications. The Solutions Architect will collaborate with business representatives to understand IT requirements generated by business strategies and operations, both short and long term.
The Solutions Architect will provide guidance to the company to proactively position its IT resources to meet these business objectives.
The Solutions Architect will contribute to the decision making process for all significant IT investments in the company.
The Solutions Architect will support the definition of CLIENT’s Enterprise Technical Architecture (ETA) and champion its implementation and acceptance throughout the company.
Airline Industry IT knowledge in areas of airfare pricing for fare management and decision support systems such as SABRE AirVision, SITA Insight, GDS pricing experience, ITA/Google, etc. is required.
The impact of this key role is expected to be significant. The Solutions Architect will work to support the creation of systems that while meeting the needs of the business of CLIENT are also supportable in the long term by the operational areas of ITS, ultimately enabling the success of the overall enterprise.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology Management or equivalent relevant technology experience. Advanced degree is a plus.
Minimum 10+ years of technology architecture, design and solutions delivery experience in organizations with large and complex information technology project requirements. Significant experience in solutions definition and implementations spanning multiple platforms and environments (large-scale transaction processing environments, client/ server environments, SOA architectures, etc.). Significant (5 years minimum, 10 years preferred) experience using CLIENT and other airline industry data in large scale airfare pricing systems and/or airline fare management and pricing decision support systems.
Strong knowledge of applications development, data management, middleware, and other areas of IT.
Knowledgeable of industry best practices and trends in various areas of IT solutions development and operations.
Airline Industry IT knowledge in areas of airfare pricing, fare Management, and pricing decision support systems.
