DriveTime Needs a Product Owner (Pega)

That's Nice, But What's the Job?

In Short, as a Product Owner for the Pega Implementation group at DriveTime, you'll be responsible for the communication, coordination, planning, and delivery of projects that flow through the software development team. You will work with a wide variety of business and IT stakeholders to help the team achieve their technology goals in an organized and timely manner.

In long, our Product Owners are responsible for:
  • Leading Agile/scrum teams through all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Ensure work is always ready for the team by owning and maintaining the story backlog
  • Owning team execution, solution quality, and on-time delivery
  • Providing mentorship to team members including Solutions Analysts and Quality Analysts
  • Collaborating with Product Managers to understand business asks and translate those to the development team, ensuring business value and high-level scope are clearly communicated
  • Working with tech leads to create short- and long-term solutions that deliver incremental business value and meet the business needs
  • Obtaining consensus on project scope and phases through conversations with product managers, business stakeholders and tech leads
  • Assisting with business/technical requirements definition and building out features and stories for the team
  • Managing and organizing project boards that will be used for daily standups and to track the SDLC process
  • Looking for execution efficiencies and adjusting timelines and targets as needed
  • Providing frequent communication to stakeholders on project status and planned deployments
  • Helping test solutions to ensure they meet business expectations
  • Serving as a point of contact for projects involving multiple units to ensure efficient cross-team coordination
  • Setting up project demos with stakeholders
  • Holding postmortems (retros) to evaluate lessons learned


The Specifics
  • Bachelor's degree required, bachelor's degree in business, technology or MBA preferred
  • Previous team leadership or Product Ownership experience
  • 6+ years of Business/Solutions Analysis, or relevant experience in a fast-paced business environment
  • Proven experience leading agile software development teams
  • 2+ years hands-on experience with Pega systems, specifically Case Management, Customer Decision Hub (CDH), Pega Customer Service & Pega Collections
  • Ability to recommend options and best approach for implementing solutions on Pega platform; experience as a Pega Lead Business Architect or Lead Decisioning Architect a plus
  • Aptitude to pick up new concepts and technology quickly and explain it to both business & IT stakeholders
  • Experience in capturing and articulating business requirements to Agile development teams
  • Basic understanding of writing SQL queries (T-SQL and/or SnowSQL)
  • Exposure to API testing with Postman or Swagger
  • Experience using Microsoft product suite: Word, Excel, Visio, Project (Or other various project management tools such as monday.com or Jira)
  • Experience handling internal stakeholders
