The Information Technology Department has an opening for a PeopleSoft Project Manager. This position is located in Phoenix, Arizona.



Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Proven track record in building strong working relationships at levels in the business and IT community to ensure overall project satisfaction.

• Well-organized, detail oriented, has great communication skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Apply these skills in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, business analysis, requirements definition, coordinating all resources and stakeholders, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring, summarizing and communicating the progress of all assigned projects.

• Performs role as the owner of the financial risk and organization impact of IT Projects.

• Work on multiple, simultaneous initiatives of which he/ she will apply applicable business and technical acumen.

• Ensuring that applicable regulatory directives are complied with e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley, current privacy legislation.

• Use of the SDLC methodology as a 'best practice' guide throughout the project lifecycle. 

• Participate in the development of cost benefit analyses, associated budgets and tracking of actual costs spent vs. budget and regularly reporting on project status to management.

• Act as a role model by providing leadership and direction for team members in areas that affect projects, tasks and deliverables.

• Must be able to make sound decisions based on incomplete information, under pressure and maintain project focus.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to direct and influence technical professionals.

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

• Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively within a matrix, 'virtual' environment.

• Demonstrated ability to negotiate with and manage external vendors.

• Excellent communications skills (written and oral), customer service skills and problem solving skills.

• Self-confident; capable of commanding authority and respect at all levels.

• Requires approximately 10% travel depending upon project specifics and business locations. Maintain a common documentation library of standardized procedures and configurations (RUNBOOK).



Qualifications: 

• Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent work experience.

• PMI, CAPM certification, or formal project management training preferred.

• 5+ years experience in the role of Technical Project Manager with in-depth understanding of enterprise infrastructure capabilities in a fortune 50 retail environment.

• Experience working with administrative functions such as Human Resources, Payroll (PeopleSoft), and Financial Applications preferred.

• Strong understanding of Program Management Office disciplines.

• Possess domain expertise in Project Management.

• Information Technology experiences to include one or more of the following: Structured Development Methodology, Application Development, Application Delivery, Enterprise Systems Management, and/or Systems Integration. 

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

• Ability to build constructive business relationships and gain the trust of others. 

• Technical knowledge should include: MPE, Visio, SDLC, Agile, etc.

• Self-motivated and ability to work independently. 

• Ability to work collaboratively and influence others.

• Previous experience managing within a matrix environment. 

• Strong understanding of emerging business solutions, technologies, and delivery methodologies.

• Excellent communications skills (written and oral), customer service skills and problem solving skills. 

• High degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
