Job Description


Northrop Grumman is seeking a Electrical / Principle Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible for technical, cost and schedule performance of the space vehicle bus.
Applies electrical engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features from previous successful designs of similar nature.
Participate in pre-proposal cost and technical assessments.
Prepares and presents electrical engineering material for Requirements and Design Reviews
Analyze and designs avionics systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
Supports the design of electrical systems
Act as liaison with program management and customer


This position may be filled at the Principal Electrical Engineer or Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer level, depending on education and years of experience.

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics.
At least 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience for a Principal Electrical Electrical Engineer and at least 9 years of Electrical Engineering experience for a Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer.
At least two years of experience as a technical point of contact for a product and/or product line.


Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
2 or more years' experience with batteries of varying chemistries.
2 or more years' experience performing detailed power analysis
2 or more years' experience generating technical requirements documentation
Background and basic understanding of analog & digital electronics as well as batteries of varying chemestries.
At leasttwo years of experience supporting supplier and/or customer relationships.
Basic working knowledge of spacecraft power subsystems
Experience with Lithium Ion battery charge/discharge control, energy balance analysis, depth of discharge analysis, battery sizing and design.
TS/SCI Clearance is preferred

This position may be filled at the Principal Electrical Engineer or Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer level, depending on education and years of experience.
