Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
Develop, modify, and maintain customized or standardized embedded mission systems applications using software best practices and standards
Participate in the full lifecycle of software development to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance

Rocktober Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of software engineering experience OR
Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of software engineering experience OR
PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 0 years of experience in software engineering
Demonstrated experience developing software writing code in C/C++ and/or Python
An active, in-scope DoD Secret level security clearance
Knowledge of VxWorks 653 3.x
Familiarity with software development tools such as Git, Cmake, VectorCAST, and Eclipse
Experience developing software for safety critical embedded systems
Experience working in an Agile environment
Knowledge of Linux systems and basic commands
Knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, MIL-STD-1553, and PCI
Experience debugging embedded targets via JTAG
Familiarity with oscilloscopes and multimeters
Knowledge of software design patterns, algorithms, and data structures
Familiarity with software requirement tools such as DOORS and Rational Rhapsody
