JOB DESCRIPTION




Piper Companies is currently seeking a Process Development Scientist in Baltimore, MD. This individual should be highly motivated with exceptional expertise in process development for the antibody drug product manufacturing.

Responsibilities for the Process Development Scientist include:
  • Closely work with other functional teams (research, analytical, formulation) to move projects forward
  • Anticipates problems especially those that may compromise the quality of the product
  • Establish phase appropriate contamination control, gowning procedures, and operator training
  • Write, review, approve technical reports
  • Complies with cGMP regulations for making recombinant protein products for phase I/II clinical trials
  • Develops cell culture process that are scalable for technology transfer
  • Follow SOPs and perform routine stability indicating assays (SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, Chromatography HPLC / GC, Particle sizing, ELISA, Protein assays, UV Spectroscopy, etc.)


Qualifications for the Process Development Scientist include:
  • 0-2 years of experience in biologics, vaccines, biotech, pharmaceutical R&D environment
  • 3 years experience within the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry
  • Ability to independently break down complex problems, propose experimental approach and provide definitive solutions
  • Working knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Bachelor s degree in Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent

  • Salary Range: Based on experience
