We are seeking a Process Engineer, Nanopore Platform Development in Roche, Santa Clara, office, to collaborate on design down selection of component parts with research through design of experiments, mechanical data collections, data analysis with special focus on flow cell, Chip-on-board assemblies, rubber and plastic manufacturing and final device assembly and packaging.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


Develop experiments and analyses to qualify new parts including measurement data collection and sequencing experimentation
Support quality compliance, MFG system test, and design/process improvement projects
Executing failure analysis investigations, risk impact assessment and root cause investigations
Generating technical documents, including IQ/OQ/PQ, SOPs, URS, Design and Functional Specification, Executed FAT and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) verification, as well as final reports
Collaborate with design engineers in generating product configuration documentation, including specification and assembly drawings and BOMs
Support the coordination between internal and external resources for product transfer
Develop and document new methods and procedures for production processes
Creation and development of SPC tracking, yield pareto charts and other in-line metrics in collaboration with development engineers


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS:


B.S. in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field with minimum 5 years of experience
Experience with lab equipment and instruments involving liquid and gases
Familiarity with pneumatic and electric actuators, solenoid and pneumatics valves, fixture and tooling using Solid Work, high precision tolerances components and assemblies a plus
Prefer experience with statistical data analysis using JMP, R or Python
Prefer familiarity with board schematics, BOMs and test instrumentations
Experience using automated inspection instruments such as OGP, Micro-Vu or similar set-up



Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and completeness of data, reports, records, etc.
Creative problem solving skills.
Good organizational and planning skills.
Ability to work independently and with others as a team.
