Position Description

A Product Developer is a position within Godlan’s Product Development organization with more than five years of software and product development experience.

 Primary Objectives

The Product Developer will be part of Godlan’s Prophecy IoT development team, which will have the responsibility for supporting and enhancing Prophecy and other internally developed applications using Microsoft .NET technology. Utilizing a Product Development Life Cycle, the Product developer will work with technical and non-technical personnel associated in defining business and technical requirements to develop new functions or redesign/consolidate existing processes.

 Responsibilities

A Product Developer is primarily responsible for most of the activities associated with a traditional Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to produce software with the highest quality and lowest cost in the shortest time.  This includes:

  • Work with other developers and/or customers to design algorithms and flowcharts
  • Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
  • Integrate software components and third-party programs
  • Verify and deploy programs and systems
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
  • Gather and evaluate user feedback
  • Recommend and execute improvements
  • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting

 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven experience as a Product Developer, Software Engineer or similar role
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
  • Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git)
  • Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate)
  • Ability to learn new languages and technologies

Job Requirements A Product Developer must be able to successfully complete assigned activities at all complexity levels, from requirements gathering all the way through customer acceptance per an agreed-to timetable.  Special projects, training, and other internal or external activities may also be assigned at the discretion of Godlan, Inc. management.

Education and Experience

BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

5+ years of Enterprise Systems Development

5+ years of progressive experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, Java and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git).

Physical Demands

This position requires the employee to be able to see, hear, and speak.  The employee will be often performing work in a seated position, which requires the use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, phone, and similar office equipment.  Reasonable accommodation can be made for an employee with disabilities to performing job functions.

Ability to travel, as required, in either the most efficient or the most cost-effective mode, as determined by Godlan, Inc. management.  Reasons for travel may include, but are not limited to, onsite customer work, internal meetings, customer meetings, and sales support.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Work Environment

At the choosing of Godlan, Inc. management, the employee’s work environment will either be in a Godlan office or in the employee’s home office.  A home office must be a place where the employee can establish a reliable internet connection, have access to cellular phone service, and ensure an atmosphere in which both work and customer communications can be conducted in a professional and effective manner.
