Position Summary: Create and improve custom built software solutions that fill needs unique needs for the NAM.

Day to Day Responsibilities: include the following.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture.
  • Write clean, scalable client-server API and websites using .NET languages.
  • Test and deploy applications and systems.
  • Revise, update, refactor and debug code.
  • Write user guides and technical documentation.
  • Ability to self-manage priorities and schedules for deliverables.
  • Be willing to explore and learn (either self-guided or formal training) additional technology methods to meet the evolving needs of clients both internal and external.

EXAMPLES OF DECISION-MAKING:

On your own authority:  Conducts meetings to obtain user requirements and determines feasibility of stated objectives; designs and writes computer programs and implementation plans to meet requirements. 

Which require the support of your associates:  Delegation of portions of system design projects and accompanying programming work.

Which require approval by higher authority:  Use of consultants, equipment replacement or computer upgrades; creation of NAM-wide systems designs and plans.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No direct reports

DEGREE OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Minimal.

TYPE OF CONTACTS: (includes with whom and purpose of contact)

Internal:  Various levels of staff to ascertain requirements for system design.

External:   Consultants and equipment vendors for purposes of obtaining services or products.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's (A.A.) degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree (B.S.) plus 3 years of relevant work experience;
  • excellent analytical and communications skills;
  • Proven experience as a .NET Developer or Application Developer;
  • Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC));
  • Knowledge of C# and HTML5/CSS3 (Javascript optional);
  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC, SOAP)
  • Position requires a high degree of reliability.
  • Must be able to multi-task providing a high level of customer service.
  • Must be flexible and able to handle changing priorities and additional, unplanned tasks.
  • Ability to handle pressure in a deadline driven environment.
  • Must be a team player

Position is HQ based in Washington, DC.
