Project Development Engineer - Harrisburg, PA
A fully integrated energy services, mechanical contracting, engineering, and service organization based in Harrisburg, PA. This company proactively manages the project from initial concept and design, through installation and commissioning, to 24-hour service and ongoing equipment maintenance. To ensure a streamlined process, they directly employ professional engineers, certified energy managers, and LEED AP certified designers.

Job Summary:
The Project Development Engineer will serve as a technical resource to the Engineered Services Sales and Operations teams. The primary duty of this role is to assist the team with identifying, conceptualizing and designing various facility improvement measures to reduce energy consumption. Common major focus areas include existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. System evaluations will range greatly from, for example, lighting to combined heat and power. This individual will also be the main point of contact for coordinating specific scopes of work and soliciting proposals from subcontractors and strategic partners.

* Conduct in-depth site surveys to identify system operating inefficiencies within a facility; analyzes utility bills; analyzes financials
* Facilitate adequate communication among the internal team, sub-contractors, and customers by creating technical plans both written and schematic to convey solutions and risk
* Assist with performing energy savings calculations, operational savings calculations, life cycle cost analysis and feasibility analysis of recommendations and associated risks; provides an energy analysis and establishes guaranteed savings based on the measures proposed
* Identify and work with subcontractors and consultants to provide technical analysis and descriptions for project installation and to ensure the quality of work delivered exceeds the requirements of the job
* Support the sales teams by attending client meetings and presentations
* Analyze and prepare conceptual and detailed bid documents, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for energy efficient building technology and system measures
* Provide engineering guidance throughout development, construction, project commissioning, and operations, including proposals, technical reports, cost estimates, and presentations
* Demonstrate good leadership and communications to all
* Provide quality customer service and follow-up to customers as needed
* Interface with customers all levels and coordinate the status of upcoming projects
* Other duties as assigned

Technical skills & attributes required:
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Desire to work in energy efficiency
* An entrepreneurial spirit
* Ability to set and manage priorities
* Proficiency in operating Microsoft Office programs, Adobe, E-Quest, DOE-II, AutoCAD, REVIT, TRANE Trace, or Carrier
* Strong customer advocacy
* Good organizational, analytical and problem solving ability
* Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
* Energetic with a high sense of urgency
* Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative-environment
* Ability to work well with the sales and engineering teams to ensure complete and accurate solutions.
* Understanding of the Performance Contracting or ESCO business
* 3+ years of ESCO project development engineering experience preferred
* Knowledge of engineering and construction experience
* Ability to work under pressure
* Bachelor's degree in engineering
* PE is not mandatory but a plus
* Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
* Position is full-time
