We are looking for a well-organized, disciplined, accountable, committed, focused, self-motivated project manager to join an accomplished team in leading large and complex high-visibility multi-year system development and implementation efforts. As part of our team, you will contribute to all phases of the project, software development and product management lifecycles. Your interpersonal, leadership, organizational, technical and administrative skills will be continuously leveraged to insure a successful attainment of customer, project, and company goals. The projects you deliver will affect the experience of thousands of users and will have a material impact on the overall success of Active Network.
 
Your role is like a conductor coordinating the efforts of musicians, helping them to play together. Some teams are like jazz bands; they need guidance that encourages improvisation. Some teams are like symphony orchestras; they need guidance that keeps everyone on the same sheet of music. Conductors have to be deeply familiar with each instrument and with the music, yet they don’t play in the band. Their job is to bring out the best in the musicians, both individually and as a group.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead various cross-functional projects and multi-national initiatives
  • Interact directly with a complex set of stakeholders and cross-functional / technical teams including clients, vendors, management and technical staff
  • Remove impediments that stand in the way of the team accomplishing goals
  • Leverage project management experience to guide and support activities including self-organization and continuous improvement
  • Manage, guide and develop program / project plans, project schedules, risk analyses / mitigation and estimates as needed
  • Simultaneously manage delivery for multiple products and projects
  • Collect, monitor and report to executive management and stakeholders on the progress and performance of assigned projects and portfolio
  • Proactively manage project issues and risks, and promptly escalate relevant issues to senior management
  • Ensure projects are delivered with proper and timely quality
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills required
  • Project management leadership over large projects and portfolios
  • Min. 5 years of experience in a technology organization
  • Min. 3 years of software development project management experience
  • Knowledge & hands on experience with Scrum/Agile and / or traditional IT project management methodologies required
  • Knowledge of SDLC, PMLC, IT deployments required
  • Experience with multi-national, distributed teams is a plus
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Experience with e-Commerce, event management / registration, SaaS systems development is a strong plus
  • PMP and or CSM preferred
