Ciber, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager in the Washington, DC area.

Role Description:

The Project Manager applies professional principles, practices, and techniques to lead project teams and control project schedule, cost, and performance risks to ensure satisfied customers. This role reports to the Program Manager and has responsibility for all assigned programs/projects while managing customer satisfaction, definition, planning, monitoring, and other aspects of a program/project ensuring consistency with business strategy, commitments and goals. Excellent communication both oral and written that requires someone that embraces client engagement. Needs to be self-directed and thrives in an environment that sometimes can present itself as demanding and dynamic. Also needs to have a very analytical nature whom strength is in planning and is comfortable with financials. The Project Manager needs to be a very collaborative team player whom is effective directing various vendors as well as interfacing with the business stakeholders.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for project oversight, governance, and status reporting using the approved ITS methodology.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains all documentation related to the projects including charters, work plans, timelines, issue/risk logs and budgets.
  • Obtain all signatures related to client sign-off on project documents and deliverables.
  • Establishes, communicates, and manages appropriate project scope change management procedures.
  • Anticipates and identifies potential problems or risks for both the project and present alternative solutions to problems.
  • Can effectively lead and manage medium to large sized projects and project teams.
  • Effectively manages multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Follows SDLC Best Practices.
  • Responsible for tracking project spend.
  • Excellent communication skills required (written & oral).
  • Detail oriented. Attention to quality a must!
  • Need experience managing waterfall
  • This position requires PMI Certification (PMP).
  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM) a plus!
  • Will perform other project management tasks as needed.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of project/program.
  • Manage project development from initiation to closure.
  • Accountable for project results along with project sponsor.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Develop full scale project plans.
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff.
  • Manage project budget.
  • Manage project resource allocation.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines.
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Provide direction and support to project team.
  • Quality assurance.
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
  • Project evaluations and assessment of results.
  • Manage multiple work streams and vendor groups.

Education and Experience:

PMI Certification is a major asset
hands-on experience using SharePoint 2010 preferred
knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
knowledge of project management techniques and tools
at least 7 years of direct work experience in project management capacity
proven experience in people management
proven experience in strategic planning
proven experience in risk management
proven experience in change management
proficient in project management software
