Overview

By Light Professional IT Services is seeking a Project Manager to join our team supporting a DOD customer. This position will provide overall support to the lead Government project manager responsible for the overall direction, management, communication, coordination of deliverables, logistics, and accountability; track key milestones and schedule project resources to meet the needs of customers. You will also help make sure all team members and departments have what is needed to meet the deadlines and milestones set by the lead Government project manager. You will be focused on executing specific stages of a plan and to help enable the project manager to focus on broader issues and any problems that may arise by managing the day-to-day project tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the status and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects.
  • Act as customer point of contact for the project.
  • Provides proactive and responsive customer focused leadership, reaching back to corporate resources to mitigate risks and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Track the completion of work requests/process, coordinate with other project mangers and coordinator so that duplicative requests are not processed.
  • Monitors the assessment of project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules and that timelines are met.
  • Help review and monitor completion of program related documentation.
  • Prepare status reports and present senior level strategic briefings and metrics as required by the Government.
  • Ensure the completion and integration of multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Providing analysis and recommendations in support of problem resolution.
  • Aiding in the coordination of activities and documents to ensure alignment with plans and directives for program goals.
  • Ensure/coordinate/effect the updates to the customer Configuration Management Database.
  • Controls list of Change Request items for team to work on.
  • Maintains project SharePoint site and is responsible for storing and updating project documentation.


Required Experience/Qualifications

  • At least 2-5 years relevant project coordination or management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in business, engineering, computer science, or information technology management.
  • Related industry experience in information technology or engineering
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Project
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills
  • PMP or working towards a PMP.


Special Requirements/Security Clearance

  • Active DOD Secret clearance required.
