The Electronics and Sensors Division (ESD) is a world-class engineering and scientific leader in electronics and remote sensing systems. The Radar Processing and Analysis Department (RPAD) resides within ESD. Our team includes a diverse set of highly respected engineers and scientists working to advance the most challenging Radar technologies and associated missions. RPAD specializes in solving technical challenges covering a broad range of disciplines including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image formation processing, Radar system modeling (antenna modeling, transmit and receive chain modeling, etc.), Moving Target Indication (MTI), maritime surveillance, electronic warfare, signal processing, and algorithm development for advanced SAR image products. Our expertise, combined with sophisticated in-house laboratories and capabilities, enables RPAD to shape the future of Radar and deliver innovative solutions to national space systems and civil customers.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Engineer innovative and sophisticated radar processing applications
  • Provide technical leadership in digital signal processing and system architecting expertise in the areas of SAR systems
  • Explore unique solutions and efficient implementations of signal processing algorithms for challenging space-based mission applications
  • Characterize end-to-end RF system performance using modeling and simulation against a variety of design and mission trades
  • Support planning and execution of radar system solutions throughout their design, development and testing phases
  • Partner with engineers across multiple disciplines to refine and mature system requirements and design
  • Communicate technical findings and advise government and internal Aerospace customers

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Masters degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical discipline
  • 4 years of experience in SAR and/or Radar systems
  • Background in SAR Image and phase history processing and analysis
  • Strong scientific programming skills in data analysis, data visualization and generating radar processing algorithms through MATLAB, C++ or Python
  • Exceptional interpersonal, collaborative, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to work across teams including government, Aerospace, SETA and contractor staff
  • Willing to travel domestically approx. 5%
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Masters or PhD degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical discipline
  • 8 years of experience in with SAR Image Formation Processing and Algorithm development
  • Proven history with performing SAR systems, mission and CONOPS Analysis on complex RF architectures
  • Significant engineering experience with SAR and MTI Performance Modeling
  • Experience in a technical lead position with design and development responsibilities
  • Current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
