BLACKWATCH International is seeking a Red Hat Linux Administrator to join our outstanding BWI team in China Lake, CA.

Position Description:
The Red Hat Linux Administrator must be proficient in all aspects of Red Hat Linux. Capability to perform efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment is essential. Provides technical assistance in the test, installation, scanning, hardening, patching and modernization of RDTE lab customer PC systems. Routine tasks will include maintenance and teardown for various PC systems, systems test, systems patching and systems scanning.

Position Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and install applications software and hardware for desktop operating systems. Interpret and implement DoD DON IT security policy and compliance measures. Install, operate, and maintain DoD standard security toolsets (ACAS, HBSS, etc.). Implement appropriate STIGS, IAVA/B/M patch management, and work with ISSE and user community to either remediate or mitigate vulnerabilities. Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, create users and groups, review log files, diagnose and solve permission issues, monitor performance, and troubleshoot alerts from DoD, commercial, opens source, and local monitoring tools. Interface with IA support staff on matters of information assurance to support and maintain Certification and Accreditation (C&A) efforts. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and interface with vendor and other technical support representatives as needed.


Position Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of direct experience providing exceptional Help Desk/Customer Service support. Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of Linux application/operation. Experience with workstations, Windows development, system security, servers, and networking in a Windows and Linux environment. Excellent written and oral communications skills with a proven history of working in a progressive IPT environment. Working knowledge of Linux and Windows 7/10 operating systems. Ability to do hardware upgrades and software patches on workstations and servers. Knowledge and ability to work with a variety of backup solutions and audit logs. Familiarity with major PC software packages such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and experience with installing software and willing to learn other software packages. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Clearance Requirements:
Mandatory U.S. Citizenship. Requires minimum current active or interim Secret level security clearance.

Education and/or Certifications:
Requires COMPTIA Security+ certification (compliance with DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II). Requires Microsoft Server 2008/2012 certification within six (6) months of start date. Requires Red Hat Certification within six (6) months of start date.

Additional Information:
The typical schedule is: o Flex Schedule: 44/36 alternating work weeks. Which include: 9-hour work days Mon-Thu. 8-hour work day for working Fri. Every other Friday is a non-work day. Typical day is 7am-5pm with one hour for lunch. Attire is desert casual. Long pants, enclosed shoes, button or polo style shirt. Relocation assistance may be provided to the right candidate.
