Responsibilities





MTSI is seeking an Research and Development Engineer/Scientist to join our team to participate in research and development as an Engineer/Scientist, pursuant to the goals of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. You will learn and explore new technologies, demonstrate good analysis and problem-solving skills, and apply theory to observables or proxy data to address intelligence issues. This positions will be located in Springfield, VA.


You must satisfy one or more of the specialized focus areas listed below:

  • Spectral
    • Design and implement algorithms with in a programming language such as Java or Python.
    • Utilize optimization techniques for large datasets.
    • Design and develop High Powered Computing and parallelized algorithms.
    • Apply of spatial statistics to dynamic data.
    • Utilize of a variety of trajectory datasets formatted in raw, vector, 4676, 4607, etc
  • Geospatial Cyber/Radio Frequency
    • Develop, deploy and run containerized software for computational electromagnetic Modeling and Simulation.
    • Build and deploy Modeling and Simulation environment and processing pipeline on HPC systems.
    • Develop software and scripts to properly translate input and output data.

  • Analytic Automation - Data


    • Evaluate and establish specific data set criteria to include data create attributes, source diversity and source metadata.


    • Aggregate supplemental information from other sources as a means of enhancing performance of machine learning algorithms.


    • Emphasize quality and diversity of data sets as gathering methods are established.

  • Cloud Computing

    • Provide architectural design and dev-ops expertise to a Research group deploying solutions within cloud and on-premise modern GPU-compute environment.


    • Architect cloud environment such as AWS, Azure or another cloud environment in support of development teams.


    • Provide technical guidance and support to teams deploying containerized solutions in cloud and hybrid environments.


    • Understand CPU/GPU concepts, architectures, and support tools such as workload managers (SLURM), container management (Docker, Singularity) and registration (Kubernetes), and capacity planning highly desired.

Qualifications





  • 9+ years' of experience in the following areas: Spectral, Geospatial Cyber/Radio Frequency, Analytic Automation - Dev Ops, and/or Analytic Automation - Data.
  • Able to oversee less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

Education Requirements:

Master s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or related field (19 years' of relevant work experience may be substituted in place of degree).


Clearance Requirements:

Activate TS/SCI clearance (with CI poly).
