SAAS Cloud Solutions Architect

Reports to the Chief DNS Architect
The Solution Architect will drive and manage R&D projects. We re building a new SaaS, and you have the opportunity to join on the ground floor. The successful candidate will play a key role in working with Product Management to define the service, develop cutting-edge technology, and ensuring a positive experience for our customers.
Design and architect industry-leading PaaS/SaaS/Cloud solutions that position as a key leader in DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management, and security
Focus primarily on PaaS layer, including a control plane based on Kubernetes, which provides messaging, authentication, authorization, logging, persistence, etc.
Work with Product Managers to identify core initiatives in PaaS/SaaS/Cloud and helping to define and vet product requirements
Work with Engineers to design PaaS/SaaS/Cloud solutions to meet business requirements
Help to deploy and integrate the services needed to support various SaaS applications
Work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams throughout the company as a subject matter expert in PaaS/SaaS/Cloud with a solution and implementation focus
Mentor and educate engineers, especially with respect to microservice architectures
10+ years of experience in software development with at least 5+ years working with PaaS/SaaS/Cloud products and technologies
5+ years of Java, Python, or Go programming experience is required
Experience with Kubernetes, Linux Containers and/or Docker.
Big Data experience: Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, Impala, Cassandra, Redis, Solr/Lucene/elastic-search, and/or comparable technologies
Experience in Unix/Linux environment (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, and Amazon AMI)
Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, etc.)
Understanding of distributed systems and clustering architectures massive-scale performance with reliability
A strong technical foundation in information systems and databases
Full software development life-cycle experience, with a proven track record of shipping products
Results-oriented, solid work ethic with excellent attention to detail and quality
This is a hands-on position: You must be able to write code individually or as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ideal candidate will possess
Network security background, familiar with botnets, DDoS, etc.
Programming experience using Go, C, or C++
Experience with Angular JS and UI development helpful
Experience with The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) helpful
B.S. in CS, CE or EE is required
Masters in CS, CE, or EE is preferred
