Become a key contributor in a small program office team charged with shaping the future of our nation's GEOINT space architecture. The GEOINT Innovations Office's GEOINT Future Architectures Department supports our customer's efforts to imagine, analyze, optimize, and acquire the next generation of GEOINT systems. As a Senior GEOINT Futures Engineer you will play a key role in developing detailed analyses to enable data-driven decisions at the highest levels of the government. You will have the opportunity to lead and coordinate design, modeling, and decision support studies that contribute to formulating our nation's next generation of GEOINT. This is a significant career opportunity to support the acquisition and disposition of the entirety of the nation's overhead GEOINT architecture. Key Functions
  • Translate abstract customer needs into specific analysis questions and plans for execution
  • Identify and assist the Systems Director in capitalizing on opportunities for strategic growth in value
  • Contribute to shaping the customer's strategies for acquisitions and studies
  • Organize and lead multi-disciplinary teams in the strategic development of new capabilities and workflows
  • Provide architecture level acquisition support, studies, and analysis
  • Participate in engagement activities with a variety of mission partners across government as well as diverse industry partners
  • Develop, communicate, and defend Aerospace technical positions on a wide variety of program assessments and key customer issues to both customer and Aerospace senior management
  • Participate in significant interaction with staff in the Aerospace Engineering Matrix Organizationto ensure appropriate tasking, progress and results
  • Excel in a fast-paced, small team environment
  • Operate as a direct interface to the government program leadership and interface with all levels of Aerospace, customer, and contractor personnel
  • Be self-motivated to search for and recognize technical and programmatic issues and develop related solutions
  • Mentor and support the growth of junior members of the team as well as key Aerospace Engineering Matrix Organization staff

  • BS in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • A proven history of applying engineering skills and best practices to the resolution of complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to interface between other organizations across the broader IC and National Security Space Enterprise
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and lead the activities of senior technical staff and contribute to the efforts of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and defend technical positions based on complex analysis sets
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with government and SETA personnel
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with quickly changing priorities and activities
  • Direct experience with overhead GEOINT systems
  • Experience in developing requirements for overhead systems
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer interface skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Some travel will be necessary to support contractor activities
  • Must show initiative and leadership and require minimal management oversight
  • This position requires the ability to have and maintain a current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science
  • At least 12 years of experience in government space acquisition, with a preference for experience which spans mission areas and classes of programs
  • Ability to identify, self-organize, and initiate Engineering Matrix Organization activities in support of government priorities
  • An understanding of the GEOINT mission and overall intelligence objectives
  • Experience interacting with the GEOINT community on future needs and requirements
  • Experience with early acquisition systems engineering processes
  • Working knowledge of ground and communications technology, commercial GEOINT activities, and/or the GEOINT enterprise including ground, air, and space
  • Working knowledge of Aerospace Engineering Matrix Organization personnel and processes and experience tasking Matrix resources
