Job Description

Our Technology Team is seeking an experienced Mid-Level SQL Developer to join our team of developers in Ashburn, Virginia.  The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, team player,  willing to learn and work with newer technologies. 

Required Skills:

  • 5 years min of SQL experience, 7 years total software development experience at a minimum
  • Good understanding of various data models
  • Good Analytical and Communication Skills
  • Ability to write complex queries in TSQL and design and develop ETL processes utilizing SSIS
  • Collaborate with internal groups to define requirements, define test plans and implement solutions for data migration for ETL Processes
  • Experience with data warehousing

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Costpoint Enterprise Reporting (CER)
  • Experience with Accounting systems
  • Experience with Sharepoint data structures
  • Experience with PowerBI dashboards and reports


  • Work with an agile development team to develop, test, and maintain web based business applications built on Microsoft technologies
  • Work with teammates in the migration of older applications to current Microsoft technologies, including migration of legacy data
  • Analyze and resolve technical and application problems
  • Understand requirements and design of intended solutions
  • Participate in the user stories and requirements discussions
  • Develop SQL queries, scripts, schema, stored procedures, and reports
  • Perform unit testing and defect resolution
  • Contribute to overall development efforts within an agile environment
  • Build, debug, monitor and troubleshoot databases and ETL processes to ensure optimal performance, reliability and integrity
  • Communicate with team members to define data repositories and analysis needs.
  • Understand existing systems and applications to quickly identify the root cause of reported issues
  • Develop consistent, easily referenceable documentation related to database development work
  • Provide recommendations on improvements for database performance and architecture
  • Other duties as assigned 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering is required
  • Must have 5 years of experience in SQL database development and a total of 7 years of experience in software development
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL server, T-SQL and SSRS
  • Understanding and proven ability to architect and develop reliable solutions using SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions
  • Experience using JIRA, Microsoft TFS
  • Prior experience within a .Net development environment, XML/JSON data structures is a plus
  • Ability to produce quality code within specified time frames 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent customer focus, attitude, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
