The Space Systems CIO PMO is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal level Scrum Master in support of Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) in the Redondo Beach, CA area. SSSD is undergoing an initiative to modernize existing business systems and custom applications. We are looking to hire a skilled business process analyst/project manager/scrum master to support this effort. This person will lead multiple projects and will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. It will require the coordination of all activity from the initial kick offs through completion of multiple projects. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation.

The Scrum Master will lead and direct one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations. Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team. Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Elicits, analyzes, specifies, and validates the business needs of stakeholders
  • Collaborates with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision
  • Works with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements
  • Translates conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner for the developers/project team
  • Develops and conduct reviews of business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted
  • Collaborate with customer and development team to identify appropriate technical solutions
  • Coordinate with customers and/or technical staff to resolve issues
  • Use accepted project management, application development and documentation standards and processes
  • Coordinate testing, implementation, documentation of applications
  • Work as the project manager and provides leadership, guidance and support to all team members
This position may be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Level:
  • Associate's degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, or Master's degree with 3 years of experience; a High School diploma or equivalent and 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance and SCI access.
  • Must have experience in either project management, cost, budgets, or scheduling.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience using the following MS Office Suite tools: Word, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must have familiarity with technical solutions, infrastructure implementations, process/project documentation, and/or liaison interfacings for large enterprise organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to pro-actively identify issues and solutions to those issues, and drives issues rapidly to closure.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance and SCI access.
  • Must have experience in either project management, cost, budgets, or scheduling.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience using the following MS Office Suite tools: Word, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must have familiarity with technical solutions, infrastructure implementations, process/project documentation, and/or liaison interfacings for large enterprise organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to pro-actively identify issues and solutions to those issues, and drives issues rapidly to closure.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior Northrop Grumman Sector-specific experience.
  • Broad background in IT Infrastructure, business applications, and operations.
  • Ability to perform risk & opportunity analysis and prepare detail cost and technical proposals.
  • EVMS Skills and Experience
  • Active Top Secret/SSBI security clearance with an adjudication or reinvestigation date within the past 5 years, and the ability to maintain the required clearance; additionally, the selected candidate will be required to obtain SCI access within a period of time as determined by customer and/or program requirements.
Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
