SUMMARY:

The Scrum Master will be accountable for managing multiple client implementation and/or technology product projects on a day-to-day basis to successful completion. The Scrum Master role is responsible for accurate, successful, and on-time delivery of all milestones related to a project, managing project schedules, identifying risks and mitigation strategies, managing and tracking technical issues and priorities, oversight of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) process, and clearly communicating project health status to the project stakeholders, business analysts, technical development team and senior management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
Lead and drive internal cross functional teams to meet project deliverables.
Manage technical issues, risks and priorities.
Perform risk assessment and implement risk mitigation plans.
Resolve issues and solve problems throughout the project lifecycle.
Proactively identifying resource constraints and working with personnel managers on creative solutions.
Manage the unexpected gracefully and effectively, inspiring team confidence in achieving project success and having transparent clarity of issues with project stakeholders to assist in resolution or escalation.
Lead project meetings with technology team providing transparency to task status and identifying issues.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze needs and requirements.
Implementation of projects in accordance with Questar-s established Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) model, and offering suggestions on ongoing process improvements to the project management team.
Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Resolve issues and solve problems throughout the project lifecycle.
Serve as the conduit and act as liaison between the (internal and external) customers, software development team and other operational teams.
Maintain key relationships with (internal and external) project sponsors to forecast resource needs and communicate those needs to management.
Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change, work beyond the technology team to further optimize and improve existing cross-functional processes.
Build a knowledge base of project types, document templates and other project artifacts to draw from to optimize repeated project processes.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor-s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or technical area, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) preferred

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

3+ years in any combination of business analysis roles in high-paced internet-based organizations or within website departments in traditional organizations,
Experience with online education products highly desirable.
Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple planned and unplanned projects.
Ability to act as a high-functioning team member within a project team and enable individuals to meet requirements (deadlines, productivity goals, etc.) while participating within best practice SDLC methodologies but without compromising on the business goals of the projects.
Ability to turn concepts into project requirements, perform requirements gathering and appropriate documentation which lead to successful feature development and timely project completion.
Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies, requirements documentation and software development project leadership.
Experience in working environments with multiple SDLC methodologies - when to follow which process, experience in educational technologies a plus.
Experience with Agile software methodologies preferred. Formal training in one or more recognized Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, kanban, etc.) or toolsets (JIRA, VersionOne, Rally, etc.) a plus.
Current experience with business analysis and project documentation for mobile development a plus.
Knowledge of computer systems in PC, client-server, and web-enabled systems.
Experience with all MS Office applications and document creation software.
