Job Description

The Scrum Master will be a servant leader to their teams, responsible for coaching on Scrum and Kanban best practices, removing impediments and facilitating team events. The role will help software development teams achieve their goals and become high-performing, while creating a culture of self-organization, continuous improvement and consistent delivery of shippable product. The Scrum Master ensures clear communication and dependency management between teams and other roles, discipline areas and departments.


  • Coach teams to adopt a lean/agile mindset and employ agile practices

  • Facilitate team events (daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospective, and review/demo)

  • Partner with Product Owners to maintain healthy, development-ready product backlogs

  • Provide teams with Scrum and Kanban metrics to drive effective retrospectives and measurable improvements

  • Proactively collaborate with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other business and technology leadership to resolve any impediments to teams’ progress, and apply root cause analysis to prevent impediments

  • Participate and represent teams in SAFe activities, working closely with RTE and other agile coaches to accomplish the Agile Release Train’s objectives

  • Partner with other agile thought leaders to identify opportunities for improvement across the agile teams and company as a whole

  • Coach teams to become self-organizing and sustaining, ultimately enabling the Scrum Master to spend less time facilitating activities and more time supporting continuous improvement


  • Min 2 years experience as a Scrum Master, agile coach or agile team facilitator

  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM)

  • Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor team members in agile methodologies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated high level of analytical, problem-solving, conflict-resolution and listening skills

  • Demonstrated ability to influence change within an organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAFe experience and certification

  • Experience with Kanban
