As a Cloud Cost Analyst, you’ll be an integral part of our Infrastructure Sales team, partnering with our Sales, Proposal, and Service Delivery teams to design and validate customer architectures. You’ll be customer facing for technical walk-throughs, customer support, and third-party tool evaluations. You’ll be supporting internal teams by finding gaps in designs, factoring pricing, and learning cloud architecture in DevSecOps environment.

 

This is the perfect spot for someone just out of school with a Computer Science degree and looking to get their feet wet in a first cloud job. We’re going to expect you to work on-site in JHC Technology offices within the Washington DC metro region during regular business hours. We’ll also expect you to learn and grow, and get certifications from AWS and/or Microsoft Azure as you go. (It’s good for you and good for us! Win-win!)

 

Once you’re up to speed, you’ll be responsible for monitoring AWS cloud infrastructure costs to ensure adherence to client standards and recommending cloud cost reduction measures to ensure optimal configuration from budgetary perspectives. As you grow, you can be a part of teams responsible for performing Cloud Engineering duties such as cloud readiness assessments, AWS architecture design, system evaluation, and more. In this position, you’ll also bring to the table a general understanding of client/server architecture, operating systems, software applications, network protocols, routers, switches, remote access servers, and firewalls.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice to help maintain AWS Cloud Infrastructure in Optimal Configuration from a budgetary perspective
  • Provide Functional Escalation Support and Expertise to the Incident Management Processes involving AWS Infrastructure Billing or related issues
  • Leverage resource tagging to allocate costs and optimize resource planning
  • Assist in preparing cost analysis based on expected usage
  • Investigating reported and suspected outage issues, documenting issue, resolution, maintaining knowledge base of known issues.
  • Interact with internal sales and delivery personnel, external partner personnel, and clients
  • Identify any issues related to invoicing, including bugs within tools
  • Monthly reporting
  • Report daily to senior management

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Expert Excel skill required
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to pass a Federal Government background investigation
  • Experience documenting requirements

  • Proficient at multi-tasking and proactive in work responsibilities
  • Superior attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS or Microsoft Cloud experience or exposure preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
