Job Description

Job Description Summary

The Principal Data Architect is a senior visionary who translates business requirements into technology requirements and defines data standards and principles. This architect is responsible for visualizing and designing the organization’s enterprise data management framework. This framework describes the processes used to plan, specify, enable, create, acquire, maintain, use, archive, retrieve, control, and purge data. The Data/Integration Architect also provides a standard common business vocabulary, expresses strategic requirements, outlines high-level integrated designs to meet those requirements, and aligns with enterprise strategy and related business architecture.
This position will also define the flow of data between IT assets and organizational processes to enable interoperability between systems. They will help understand the source of the data and help reconcile and normalize the data for use, and will enable better overall communication between functional units in the organization.
This position requires the ability to work with other IT and business groups to define architectures and lead projects that cross functional boundaries. They must be able to work with minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

• Building awareness, increasing knowledge, and sharing and driving adoption of modern technologies and architecture patterns across the enterprise
• Effectively communicating with and influencing key stakeholders across the enterprise, at all levels of the organization
• Operating as a trusted advisor for the data transformation and machine learning ecosystem, helping to shape use cases and drive implementation
