This position is part of a new Identity & Access Management (IAM) Program seen as strategically important to SMU s digital transformation.
Successful candidate will serve as a member of the growing 3 person IAM team managing the core technologies powering the SMU IAM infrastructure and be in on the ground floor as the team upgrades the entire IAM architecture. The IAM team is responsible for creating and operating the IAM program and establishing standards for delivering enterprise-wide Identity, access control, enterprise directory, and authentication services for the entire University. The individual will participate as a member of a passionate, highly skilled, collaborative team devoted to the design, implementation and operation of mission-critical IAM Services, as well as other administrative applications and tools. Ideal candidate will be a technical leader able to support IAM systems in a complex higher education environment.
A Bachelors Degree is required, preferably degree in Computer Science, Management and Data Science. Master degree is preferred.
Five years of work experience is required. Certifications may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Industry certification with directly related experience may be substituted for the degree requirements depending on the level of certification & experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The ideal candidate must have the ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Candidate must demonstrate understanding of modern Identity & Access Management concepts and best practices & must posses negotiation skills. Also, candidate must possess knowledge of SSO/Federation technologies (CAS, Shibboleth, ADFS, or SAML).
The candidate must have familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Office 365, and PowerShell for automating task or Linux scripting tools. Candidate must demonstrate experience working with complex identity management environments, including multiple systems of record and large numbers of downstream identity consumers. Experience with building REST service integration points is preferred.
Candidate must possess strong time management, organizational and planning skills. Must also possess strong project management skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
