Sr. Network Engineer
The client currently has a combination of Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco network. The network engineer will work to stabilize the current network document, maintain, and improve the future state. Standardizing VLAN and VRF design, IP address (IPAM) design, routing, and switching.
Day to day work to clean up the individual LAN closets, developing the new architecture.
Maintain the current VoIP infrastructure including patching and upgrades to phones and call manager, unity server.
Install, administer and maintain DFC network;
Configure Session Internet Protocol (SIP);
Layer Two and Three Cisco switch and router configuration (OSFP, BGP, Static, EIGRP, VRF, OTV);
Deploy Software Defined Networking (SDN and WAN-SDN);
Deploy, Configure, and Manage Network Access Control software (Examples: Clearpass, ICE);
Conduct cabling management within the server room;
Understand, design, and implementation of applications within a DMZ;
Formulate network installations based on 1G, 10G, and 40G Ethernet connectivity;
Develop, configure, secure, and maintain network management and troubleshooting center (NOC);
Architect, install, configure, secure, and maintain various VPN and remote access technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, etc);
Architect, install, configure, secure, and maintain various WiFi technologies and integrate securely into LAN/WAN;
Maintain, isolate, and secure visitor WiFi and Ethernet networks;
Represent OCIO NetOps in new office space/office renovation projects;
Monitor data center and telecom closets for environmental and electrical conditions; troubleshoot malfunctions;
Oversee security-enabled infrastructure using Nessus, Sourcefire, Palo Alto Panorama or OPIC approved solution within datacenter server room;
Provide support on existing network infrastructure hardware and cabling plants; including Gigabit Ethernet, and 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet on fiber optic and copper media;
Manage, document, and maintain infrastructures;
Maintain network connectivity and assist with the new network design;
Interface with Government FTE and other Contractors while installing, troubleshooting and maintaining network hardware and cabling;
Participate in formal product evaluations, product upgrades, and LAN maintenance;
Architect, install, configure, and maintain perimeter, exterior, internal, remote, and data center security and monitor anomalies; taking effective action as required;
Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure MTIPS Internet circuits;
Maintain zScaler architecture;
Maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Express circuits;
Assist in implementing leading-edge technologies to provide a highly reliable, scalable, and robust network infrastructure.
