Job Summary

The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

The Infrastructure Services and Operations subdivision (IS&O)) serves as the technical and programmatic advisor to the National Reconnaissance Office's Mission Operations Directorate (MOD) in operating and protecting missions. We are looking for a Senior Project Leader to deliver advanced solutions and ensure the capture of emerging capabilities and missions across the NRO's operational community.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Work collaboratively with Aerospace, customer, and contractor personnel on projects to assist customers in making acquisition decisions for delivering operations and other services focused on addressing mission challenges
  • Support development of innovative, fit-to-need program approaches with supporting analytical planning products to improve acquisition planning and execution outcomes
  • Work with Corporate and Customer organizations in performing pre-award program functions,
  • Perform independent program assessments and provide an objective analysis of operations and service acquisition and systems engineering efforts
  • Participate in and support studies to research acquisition-related topics, .
  • Participate in and support systems engineering analysis

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in engineering, management sciences, computer or information systems, or another STEM field
  • At least 12 years of progressively more responsible engineering experience
  • Experience in acquisition, project management, systems engineering, and/or systems development
  • Experience in developing or assessing space operations and service acquisition strategies and request for proposal documents
  • Familiarity with systems acquisition management disciplines
  • Familiarity with IC acquisition policies; space systems and advanced space technologies
  • Ability to develop project plans, contribute to high-impact deliverables, and manage schedule commitments
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Advanced degree from an accredited program in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of systems definition, architecture-level tradeoffs, project planning, requirements definition or program review principles for space or ground systems
  • Demonstrated capabilities in systems engineering, other engineering disciplines, Agile software development, digital acquisition, digital engineering, government acquisition, contracting, financial management, or schedule management
  • Experience providing acquisition risk assessments and guidance to avoid/minimize acquisition risk
  • Familiarity with USSF acquisition policies; space systems and advanced space technologies
