Job Summary
 
The Senior Regulatory Data Analyst position will be responsible for the design, testing and implementation of required data changes for all of the Regulatory and Compliance Submissions for the company.    This will cover Premium and Loss related submissions as well as handling of special audits and market conducts.    It will lastly require oversight and management of periodic submissions assigned; monitoring of submissions timing, ensuring creation, ensuring validation and balancing, ensuring receiving of submissions as well as any questions that arise thereafter. Primary duties will include requirements review, estimating, analysis, development of technical specification documents, development team support, significant quality assurance, implementation tracking and support of production data/submissions.   It will evolve into a lead role in the group and will require oversite of projects and resources within the team.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Education Required
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience), with 5-8 years of software development experience
  • Experience in querying relational databases
  • Experience in data mapping and transformation
  • Knowledge of structured analysis  
  •  Experience using a software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology, including project planning and estimating.
  • Ability to assist developers in developing SQL queries
  • Experience with SQL
  • Effective oral & written communication skills
  • Strong Testing and Analytical Skills
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Ability to lead and direct others
  • Ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects

Duties and Responsibilities 
  
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Analysis and clarification of Business Requirements both internal and external
  • Provide estimates of work effort to Project Managers
  • Develop detailed functional and system specifications using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and software tools. 
  • Development of use cases as needed
  • Design, testing and monitoring of all required changes needed to maintain all compliance related reporting requirements
  • Data and Transformation mapping specifications
  • Unit testing and involvement in integration, user and performance testing.
  • Work closely with development team in all phases of the SDLC
  • Ability to lead and drive efforts assigned with other team members
  • Work closely with business owners and manage accountability on testing and requirements
  • Support audits and market conduct exams as needed
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
 
 
Other highly valued skills would include:
  • Knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance industry is a plus
  • Prior experience with Statutory and Compliance Related Reporting is a plus
  • Prior Supervisory experience
  • Exposure to DB2 and SQL Server specific databases
  • Ability to think out of the box and a desire to improve the status quo
