Senior Software Engineer--Data Domain
Location: RTP/Durham, NC PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for writing high level design specs, unit test plans and integration test plans. This individual will be able to analyze and code complex modules, define data structures, and specify test tools, and be accountable for delivery of subsystem, anticipate issues and addresses proactively. This engineer will have the opportunity to develop new software engineering methods or processes, re-evaluate existing processes, contribute to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives and represent the organization on project teams and may also perform technical project leadership roles. Sphere of influence is likely to extend outside of work group or department working cross functionally within the organization. Required Skills & Knowledge:
Solid knowledge of operating systems, file systems and network protocols.
Thorough understanding of and ability to program in multi-threaded environments.
Skilled in debugging complex software stacks and familiarity with network diagnosis tools.
Experience/knowledge with storage systems is a plus.
Knowledge of appropriate development languages.
Knowledge of job associated database/software/documentation.
General knowledge and application of engineering concepts. Additional Skills Needed:
Excellent Communication skills.
Understanding of business environment.
Project management skills.
Ability to work in a team environment. Education and Experience Level:
Typically requires 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3+ years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent experience
