General Mills, Inc. has an opening for a Senior Solutions Manager - SAP Strategic Projects in Minneapolis, MN .
Duties: The Senior Solutions Manager - SAP Strategic Projects oversees all strategic SAP initiatives for the Company's Supply Chain function, including: leading the SAP S4/HANA Supply Chain project's discovery process and implementation across the Company's global operations, developing SAP upgrade strategies for the function, and applying continuous improvement tools to Supply Chain business processes in order to drive innovative and streamlined execution that supports strong business performance for the Company. He/she serves as a SAP subject matter expert for the Supply Chain function globally - presenting Global Supply Chain Business Leaders and Technical and Solutions Team Leaders, with innovative ways to leverage SAP across their business processes, and influences their decisions regarding proposed changes to the S4 program. The position's specific accountabilities include management, oversight and execution of the following Project Phases:
Project Discovery: (i) Identify where the new SAP S4 software will provide process improvement opportunities for the company's end-to-end Supply Chain processes (Customer Service, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Logistics, etc.); (ii) identify SAP S4 customization requirements in order to better serve company's business needs; and (iii) co-lead selection of external consultant firms providing advisory support to the SAP S4 Discovery team.
Project Planning: (i) d evelop and recommend project scope to Senior Leadership; (ii) identify and recommend project staffing approach, and budget that supports Spring Plan, and the Company's Fiscal 2021 implementation timeline; and (iii) develop and present a project timeline for phase 1 implementation at North America business unit, and a 3-5-year implementation road map for GMI's other global business units.
Project Execution: (i) lthe Supply Chain sub-team to deliver project discovery outcomes, including technical assessments, related business opportunity identification and overall impact assessment; (ii) collaborate with internal Global Supply Chain Business Leaders and Experts to define business opportunities, and define and develop project scope and roadmap; and (iii) engage subject matter experts and vendors in order to inform key considerations, opportunities, risks and approach for the project.
Project Implementation : (i) managed and oversee resource allocation, budget, status updates steering committee leadership and team organizational structure management; (ii) define and enhance SAP S4 implementation methodologies and practices with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement; (iii) manage complex business issues arising from the global implementation of new processes or functions; (iv) project deliverables; (v) developing and maintaining a global SAP roadmap, future enhancements, and SAP upgrades, such as S4/HANA for the supply chain function; (vi) manage integration of solution(s) into enterprise technical architecture and business environment for the SAP Supply Chain Solutions; (vii) manage SAP project personnel, developing their skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the organization, as well as building on existing recruiting capabilities to address new needs and skills gaps (viii) manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of the organization; and (ix) work with IT/IS leadership Team to develop overall IT strategy in the context of the business strategy.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related field followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience managing a global IT/IS department/function for a large multinational company. Position also requres experience in: 1) Leading large-scale, multi-year transformational IT/IS projects including end-to-end implementations impacting 1000+ end users across global locations, and business units; 2) Implementing and supporting SAP systems across a complex Supply Chain organization at a CPG company, including managing interfaces with Supply and Demand Planning, Manufacturing Execution Systems & Plant maintenance processes, Order to Cash functionality, Logistics batch management & traceability requirements, direct and indirect Sourcing operations, short shelf life product management, and business tax operations; 3) Managing project teams of 40+ direct and indirect members, across multiple position levels, geographies and functions; 4) Working across cultures, and with multi-cultural teams; and 5) Utilizing Waterfall and Agile project development and management methodologies from a project's Discovery Phase through Go -live and Stabilization/Hypercare phase.
