Position Description:
The Senior Systems Administrator - Enterprise Applications is a senior position providing Tier II support for complex issues associated with Enterprise Applications and ensuring that systems are highly available to the UPHS user community.

Accountabilities
• Responsible for enhancing, supporting, maintaining, control, design and support, of Enterprise Application servers, Virtualized Servers, as well as Physical Servers. Planning, design, and operation of the firm's Enterprise Applications on a Citrix/Virtual/Physical server platform.
• Responsibilities include working with a team of individuals through an application project; providing instruction on various technical topics to other team members, educating/training new hires, managing a project through the entire project life cycle while meeting project deadlines and initiatives, and monitoring a project plan while reporting project changes and status to administration.
• Coordination of small to medium scale project tasks. Working with team members on optimization of Enterprise Applications through development of new functionality, testing, fixing system defects, as well as implementation of scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades.
• This role is a key resource for other application team members on technical and functional application analysis, defining system requirements, and developing logical date models using best practices for build, configuration, maintenance and data integrity.
• Develop and maintain Enterprise Application/Virtual-related standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitor system performance and capacity, and provide periodic system status reports to department management.
• Plan, design, implement, and continuously improve disaster recovery procedures for Enterprise Applications/Virtual/Physical servers/Single Sign On.
• Conduct ongoing Enterprise Application/Virtual/Physical server technology assessments, research new related products and features, and develop cost effective recommendations and plans for optimizing the Enterprise Apps/Virtual/Physical environment.
• Implement, maintain, and administer enterprise IIS Server for various web based enterprise applications. Implement, maintain, and administer Single Sign On solution.
• Develop and deploy new application access methods Single Sign On as well as insure the Single Sign On solution remains up to date with current versions for both server and desktop client.
• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, polices, and procedures
• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

• Participates in the development and maintenance of Enterprise Application/Virtual infrastructure standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitors system performance and capacity, and provide periodic system status reports to department management.
• Participates in planning, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of disaster recovery procedures for Enterprise Applications/Virtual/Physical servers/Single Sign On.

Minimum Requirements:
The Senior Systems Administrator - Enterprise Applications
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree is required (preferably in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field).
• Current Internal Penn Medicine Information Services division employees may be considered with proof of active and continued enrollment in an approved bachelor degree program
• 5+ years' Experience with Enterprise Applications is required.
• 5+ years' Experience with Citrix is required.
• 5+ years' Experience with Application and OS Virtualization is required.
• 5+ years' Experience with Active Directory is required.
• 2+ years' Experience working with proprietary software and hardware is required.
• 1+ years' Experience working with production Single Sign-on Products is required.
• Willingness to travel is required.
• 3+ years' Experience with server class systems, including Windows Server 2003 and newer is preferred.
• 4+ years Healthcare IT experience is preferred.
• 1+ years Knowledge of Linux
• 1+ years Knowledge of JavaScript, VBScript, and batch files
