Overview:




Can you envision being a key player on the Enterprise Operations and Security Staff (EOSS) team that supports the Army National Guard (ARNG) wide area network and systems to all States and Territories? The program monitors and manages the Wide Area Network circuits, networking devices, network security devices, and network services in Arlington, Virginia. We have been awarded a contract for providing Enterprise Operations and Security Services (EOSS) and we are looking for someone who is capable of leading our team. What a Senior Systems Engineer does at CSRA?

  • Performs - technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.

  • Analyses - are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

  • Identifies - ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Functional analysis - timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
The Service Design team performs engineering design and support tasks to develop new IT services and improve existing services. SRA has been supporting the ARNG for over 15 years, and continues to improve services and provide enhanced capabilities that support our customers’ requirements. The senior systems engineer will support Service Design in developing technical system solutions, presenting recommended courses of action, and coordinating activities across the program for specific projects. Current system technologies used by ARNG include Microsoft, VMWare, McAfee, and Red Hat equipment. ARNG must also comply with DoD and US Army guidance. Responsibilities:




Here are a few more details about the role:

  • Generate and maintain requirements; test and evaluate potential technical architectures, analyze and resolve complex system issues, lead architecture reviews for area of expertise.
  • Provide Tier III support for technical area of expertise.
  • Work closely with the project management team and Government leadership.
  • Work with customers to determine and document system requirements.
  • Plan and implement activities to ensure successful delivery of projects and services, including the execution and documentation of testing to required standards.
  • Analyze alternative solutions to meet customer requirements and present recommendations.
  • Develop design solutions (physical and logical) that are in compliance with best engineering practices, standards, and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and associated training for new or improved services.
  • Fully integrate and test software on various system platforms such as Windows and Linux.
  • Support system security certification and accreditation efforts in accordance with DoD and/or U.S. Army requirements.
  • Lead or participate in Service Design projects to develop new services or improve existing services.
  • Conduct research on network and system products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure products and services.
  • Provide regular status and risk indicators to management

Qualifications:






  • Active Secret clearance required ~ must be US Citizen

  • BS or equivalent + 5 yrs related experience, or MS + 3 yrs related experience

  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certification

  • DOD 8570 Certification for Technical Level II

  • Microsoft technical certification desired
