Job Description

Q Analysts is looking for an experienced QA Test Analyst II to work on testing voice based consumer devices for android based assistant products. Project requires a basic background in testing mobile apps or games or visual interfaces with good attention to detail. Basic Android troubleshooting skills are required.  Test Analysts will run existing test cases and log bugs. Project involves end to end testing on an assistant console device. Requires good exploratory skills, ability to speak for extended periods of time, sharp visual skills and an inquisitive mind to test the limitations of the software and hardware. They will also have to document and create test reports and be comfortable with team collaboration. Functionality to be tested includes extensive use of speech recognition to test devices and apps etc. Tester should be "tech savvy" and able to talk shop with engineers daily. 

In addition this role will help create dashboards for displaying test and other data related to the project. Requires good SQL skills and some data visualization background. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Test case creation
  • Add/edit cases to an existing/established area
  • Edit existing cases for accuracy
  • Review of bug reports from other team members
  • Recreate bugs to validate
  • Targeted ad-hoc testing of undocumented areas
  • Test case execution
  • Mentor other Test Analysts
  • Software and hardware bug investigation and reporting
  • Bug fix verification
  • Create SQL queries for data extraction and visualize through dashboards

Skills:

  • Ability to review logs to derive root-cause of bugs
  • Ability to develop test cases and test plans
  • Competency with command line tools
  • Experience with commonly used bug-tracking software such as Jira, Bugzilla, Mantis, etc.
  • TestRail experience a plus
  • Strong deductive reasoning
  • Clear, accurate and succinct communication
  • Strong listening skills 
  • Understanding of the software development process
  • Second Language skills are a plus
