We are currently seeking a highly-qualified Senior UI/UX Designer/Front-End Programmer to support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Quality and Safety Education Portal (QSEP) development team. The QSEP provides on-demand, web-based training, provides a platform for live and prerecorded training broadcasts, performs assessments for several classroom-based, instructor-led courses, hosts additional custom materials and training, and gives health care providers access to information about surveyors’ mission. The Sr. UI/UX Designer/Front-End Programmer will create the look, layout and features of the website and the position requires both strong graphic design and programming skills. The Sr. UI/UX Designer/Front-End Programmer will work with the Development team to assist with ongoing site maintenance and content management after site creation has been completed.

  • Apply Bootstrap 3 styles to new and existing templates
  • Optimize existing markup for speed and scalability
  • Develop and re-design website pages 
  • Translate user stories and requirements into functional applications
  • Continue design and front-end development on new and existing templates
  • Ensure all codes are unit tested and compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify bottlenecks, bugs, and devise solutions to remediate findings
  • Help maintain code quality and organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design or related field
  • Professional work experience with creative web design required
  • A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience
  • Knowledge of graphic design software such as Photoshop or Illustrator
  • Expert knowledge and experience writing HTML5 and CSS3
  • Intermediate knowledge, experience, and ability with jQuery, Bootstrap, and AJAX
  • Able to work in a team environment and collaborate well with others
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to articulate complex ideas to non-technical staff
  • A self-starter with strong self-management skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Able to consistently meet project deadlines
  • Basic understanding of ASP.Net Web Forms
  • Basic understanding of GIT source code repositories
