Description of Responsibilities:
Harmonics Consulting is currently seeking a Senior Windows Engineer to support our Cloud Operations team, which is responsible for solution engineering and system support of clients large-scale cloud-based infrastructures, to ensure smooth 24x7 operations. A candidate will contribute to Windows system engineering and administration, capacity planning and performance tuning, security hardening and POA&M mitigation. As part of our Agile project team, the Senior Windows Engineer will deliver technical solutions to customers allowing them to maximize their investment in AWS and other public cloud, ensure a smooth migration with minimum impact to business and user experience, while assisting in transforming their productivity environment. A successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate proficiency with the design, implementation and support of Microsoft Windows product suites, VMWare, SAN Storage technology, and exhibit strong project management, documentation and communication skills.

Be part of an Agile project team that's constantly looking for ways to improve our customers experience
Participate in system administration, planning, design review, and implementation working groups.
Participate in providing technology assessments in support of automation and technology migration initiatives.
Recommend improvements; maintain/monitor production and non-production systems to ensure infrastructure performs at maximum efficiency.
Manage, install, configure and support Windows operating systems and third-party vendor software.
Provide support of our applications including escalation and system performance of production platforms.
Develop and maintain plans to ensure successful recovery of operating systems environment in the event of a disaster according to Disaster Recovery and COOP policy.
Perform systems analysis and tuning to ensure optimal operating systems response for multi-user applications.
Implement/maintain IT security guidelines.
Use innovative methods and technologies to identify and solve problems related to performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
Automating operational processes using scripting languages.
Develop, implement, and continually improve system and network monitoring and alerting capabilities and procedures. Report on uptime metrics to management.
Write change log, change control forms and knowledge base documents
Provide daily system and application reports
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong knowledge of system administration practices and troubleshooting.
Strong scripting background for task automation and experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of networking infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, etc.
Strong knowledge of interfacing these solutions with Microsoft Enterprise-class software (e.g., Microsoft Active Directory, Single Sign On, DNS, Email, Kerberos).
Familiarity with server virtualization technology
Ensuring that service offerings and solution leverage industry best practices.
Demonstrated ability to generate and maintain technical documentation is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with the principles of ITIL and Service Management.
Desired Skills and Experience:
7 years minimum of progressive experience in technical solutions development using Microsoft platforms with extensive experience in design, architecture, and deployment of messaging solutions
3 years minimum solution design experience spanning full-lifecycle technical leadership
3 years minimum experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Office 365 or other public cloud services.
Proven design, configuration, integration, testing, maintenance, and support of Microsoft Azure and Office 365 cloud
Familiarity with or experiencing managing email and file cluster data migrations in a large-scale complex enterprise environment
Expert knowledge and production support experience with Micrsoft Windows OS, Active Directory, VMware
Experience with SNA Storage relate technology
Experience with AWS (VPC, EC2, RDS, ELB, S3 etc.).
Experience with operating, managing and deploying solutions that leverage IaaS, PaaS or SaaS is a plus.
Should possess one or more of the following or related certifications Windows Server 2012/2016, MCSE, Office 365 or equivalent
Experience with one or more Cloud Monitoring and Configuration Management tools such as: Zenoss, Puppet, SCCM
Ideal candidate should be able to multitask and give equal attention to a variety of functions while under pressure.
Must be self-directed and independent.
Experience working within Federal Security Requirements.
A previous Security Clearance is a plus, but not required.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field
AWS, Azure, Office 365 or Google Cloud certifications are strongly desired.
