Senior Windows System Administrator: The Systems Administrator maintains operating system application functionality and stability; Build new systems, apply software and security patches; Diagnose and resolve system problems with the OS, middleware, hardware and applications;  Maintains system security; Troubleshoots system and software problems; Establishes and updates procedures and documentation; Investigate, analyze, and correct software related issues; Application problem resolution; Assist in hardware/software integration; Investigate vendor vulnerability updates and patches; Performs daily system monitoring; Performs routine system preventative and restorative maintenance.  Candidate will be required to install, maintain and support server-based applications for employees and members of SECU.  Additional duties require providing technical support for Information Services department, acting as a consultant to user groups, documentation, server builds and deployments. This position requires good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a group.  Support for problem resolution is required 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  This is an onsite, full time position in downtown Raleigh NC. Telecommuting is not an option.

Job Duties: -Install, troubleshoot and support software and hardware  -Maintain and administer Windows Servers -Provide 24x7 on-call support to mission critical system -Ensure compliance with computer security policy


  • Good Attitude – team player
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant system administration experience
  • Must complete SECU’s basic module program within 24 months of hire as a condition of employment
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop innovative solutions to business and technology problems
  • Communication and organizational skills are essential
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize appropriately
  • Require ability to work independently and to cooperate and collaborate with a team
  • Solid understanding of Windows Server operating systems
  • Experience with one or more of the following is a plus; financial packages, loan origination systems, Remedy, Insurance policy administration, IBM Websphere, PowerShell and/or scripting, network interoperability, Linux/Red Hat
